"where do i put the books
there's so many i could read
but
they all are filled
with lies
where do i put the lies
there's so many i could say
but
it seems they're
in the books"

John Crosby, a 22 year old kid from California.  He's got some damn good music.  He uses a number of different recording techniques with some interesting samples.  The melodies are  dark and rich.  The lyrics haunting, unforgettable.  This music hits me on another level completely.  I listen to the albums, either one, I'm consumed.  My mind takes me on a journey into itself.  Feeling the music as I relive experiences and feelings that I once had,.  Every since I started playing I have always been looking for music like this.   A music that knows what life is really like.  A music that is influenced from just about all genre's, from classical to Rock 'N' Roll.  The intensity used  in this music shows the truth behind  the melodies and lyrics, and if you listen hard enough even life.

As far as live goes that's a different story.  At least when I saw him.  I saw him in Columbus Oh, at the newport.  I enjoyed the show  a lot and they  are a fun band to watch, but his music doesn't reach you on the same level.  Doesn't  mean I won't go see him again.  He is still a kid.  His music is still gonna grow and so will he.  The  big thing is that he needs to not scream the words that  need to be sung.  He needs to let his voice sing the music.  John Crosby is a great musician and performer and will become an even better one as he grows.  I see him Twenty or Thirty years from now putting on shows equivalent to a Pink Floyd concert.  After all, they were the future of music and now this is the future of music.

"I don't want to call myself a true 'artist' yet," -John Crosby

"To go specifically and say 'we're not gonna be goth, we're not gonna be industrial, we're not gonna be hip-hop, we're not gonna be brit-pop, we're not gonna be indie rock, we're not gonna be alternative pop, we're just gonna do our own thing, with world music, weird songs and videos that are almost like early 80's clips,' is really going up against the grain. And we're getting punished for it every once and a while. Sure, we get rewarded, too. I mean, I just think it's so cool to be in a band that sells more records when we're getting less radio play. We're making a connection with people that goes beyond money. A lot of people criticize us because we sell 4,000 records a week instead of 40,000, but ya know what? Those 4,000 people get to enjoy something that's a little more artistic than your typical throwaway pop song."
